Job DescriptionEverstaff is seeking a Legal Secretary to support a busy transactional practice in its Lafayette office. While prior transactional experience is preferred, candidates with strong law firm legal secretary backgrounds and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided for the right individual.Location: Lafayette, LASchedule: 100% Onsite, M-F 8am-5pmSalary: $53,000 - $59,000 (Depending on experience)Benefits offeredKey ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative and legal support to multiple attorneys within a transactional practicePrepare, edit, format, and proofread legal and business documents with high attention to detailAssist with compiling transactional documentation and supporting loan closing processesEnter conflict checks; open, maintain, and close electronic and physical client filesSupport attorney time entry, expense reimbursements, calendar coordination, and travel arrangementsRedact and revise documents and exhibits accuratelyAssist with billing processes and utilize document management systemsProvide general office administrative support including mail processing, conference room setup, onboarding support, and office coordinationCollaborate closely with attorneys and staff to maintain efficient workflow and high-quality client serviceQualifications2-3+ years of legal secretary experience within a law firm environmentTransactional, real estate, or title insurance experience preferred but not requiredStrong document formatting, editing, and proofreading skillsHighly detail-oriented with strong organizational abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe AcrobatAbility to quickly learn billing, timekeeping, and document management systemsStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environmentIf you feel you have the above qualifications, please apply!All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, protected veteran status or any other protected status under the law.
