Freight Coordinator

Location: Mt. Sterling, ILDepartment: Dot Transportation, Inc.Reports To: Assistant Transportation ManagerWage Range: $18.35 - $27.53As a Freight Coordinator, you will assist in the planning and execution of business assets, carrier partners, and internal and external partners to optimize service and performance initiatives for the Traffic Department within Canada and the United States.WHAT YOU'LL DOMaintain timely and professional communication with internal and external customers on issues impacting service and overall performanceSupport carrier partners through all aspects of onboardingAudit carrier financials associated with freight movementAnalyze carrier performance metrics and conducts carrier performance reviews to influence desired behavior changesSupports Freight Sales Representatives with custom haul order activity including entry, execution, and accessorial recoveryWorks on various projects and reporting as assigned to help monitor costs and improve serviceAbility to step in and carry out all aspects of carrier assignment and related activity as neededSupport ATM in gathering of supporting documents for claim investigationApply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the positionYOU MUST HAVEHigh school diploma or General Equivalency DegreeProven analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective and professional verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work well with both internal and external customersProficient in Microsoft Office programs, including intermediate knowledge of ExcelYOU MAY ALSO HAVEPrevious experience in transportationExperience working in both team and independent settingsEffective organizational skillsSkills to be successful in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlinesAptitude for learning and time management skillsROLE SPECIFICS* Schedule: Full Time; Monday-Friday 6:30 AM - 3:30 PMWHO WE AREDot Foods, a pioneer in the food industry supply chain, created Dot Transportation, Inc.
