Sr. Transportation Coordinator

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSHeavy customer/carrier interaction and communication daily via phone and/or emailLead client business reviews & advise support teams on business requirementsMentor & train other Transportation Coordinators as requiredUtilize TMS technology to build and execute truckload, LTL, international, and hotshot movements for clientsResolve and track customer complaints and issuesProvide data interpretation and cleansing as requiredDevelop standard operating procedures (SOPs) as requiredSupport the client billing process & resolve disputesExtensive use of email technology to sort, respond, assign, and action emails as requiredMonitor loads for exception and manage exceptions to closureProvide support to the carrier billing process & work to through any discrepanciesProvide decision support for exception management during afterhours via page as neededRoute and tender shipments using enabling technologies and business processes to ensure maximum value to customers and Crane, as requiredUtilize methods and procedures to achieve process compliance and organization goalsProvide feedback and recommendations to drive continuous improvement at account and operational levelMaintain high level of customer service to both internal and external customersProvide data interpretation and cleansing as requiredWork cross-functionally between departments (engineering, analytics and execution)Other duties as assignedPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTalking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipmentVision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focusMay require client after-hours support on nights, weekends, and/or holidays via cell phone rotation and remote equipment or via in-office tools and phones.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES* Intermediate level skills with MS Excel such as freezing/unfreezing panes, hiding/un-hiding data, setting print titles & page breaks, linking workbooks, creating external links, re-directing links, customizing toolbars & menus, protecting a worksheet, filtering options, and chart formatting options* Intermediate level skills with MS Word such as including styles, mail merge, tabs, tables, columns and breaks, graphics, fields, headers and footers, working with margins, page orientation, and spelling/grammarEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE3+ years of experience working in the logistics industry required7+ years of experience working in the logistics industry preferredBachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, or similar preferredCandidate must possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and have a strong professional presenceKnowledge and understanding of the basic requirements for freight movement (truckload, LTL, air, small parcel) is requiredExperience using analytical and judgment skills to solve problemPROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONProfessional Certification may be required in some areas.WHY SHOULD YOU WORK FOR CRANE?At Crane, we believe in providing our employees with excellent benefits at a Great Place to Work.We offer:Quarterly Incentive Plan136 hours of Paid Time Off which equals 17 days for the year, that can be used for Sick Time or for Personal UseExcellent Medical, Dental and Vision benefitsTuition Reimbursement for education related to your jobEmployee Referral BonusesEmployee Recognition and Rewards ProgramPaid Volunteer Time to support a cause that is close to your heart and contributes to our communitiesEmployee DiscountsWellness Incentives that can go up to $100 per year for completing challenges, in addition to a discount on contribution ratesCome join the leader in logistics and take your career in the right direction.Disclaimer:The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this position.
