- The Vice President for University Advancement is responsible for leading the University's development, alumni relations and marketing and communications programs in order to build awareness of the University and secure philanthropic resources necessary to sustain and advance its mission.
- The Vice President has overall responsibility for the operation and success of all development programs (annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, corporate and foundation giving), advancement systems, alumni relations, and marketing and communications (print and electronic communications, media relations, community relations and marketing and image development).
- Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan to meet the University's fundraising goals, including Annual Giving, Major Gifts, Corporate and Foundation Giving, and Planned Giving, which includes strategies, metrics and management reports.
- Manage a portfolio of top major gift prospects, including their cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, developing relationships that will maximize donor giving over time.
- Work collaboratively with the Dean of the School of Dentistry to ensure that the School's fundraising goals are achieved.
