- Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure.
- Qualified candidates for the Tenure Track focused in subspecialty areas of basic or clinical research in Anesthesiology, but not limited to, Pain, Neuroscience, Neuroanesthesia, Neurophysiology, Neuroinflammation, Postoperative Neural Dysfunction and Neuroprotection, Cardiovascular Critical Care research, and Womens Health are encouraged to apply.
- We have several emerging programs in basic neurosciences on ischemic spinal cord injury following aortic aneurysm repair (open surgical repair versus TEVAR micro-RNA signaling), postsurgical delirium, neuromodulation and neuroprotection and perioperative pain management.
- Funded research through DOD is focused on basic science mechanistic studies in mitochondrial dysfunction and molecular therapy in pulmonary oxygen toxicity.
- Other areas of investigation include many aspects of pain research (NIH R34 study of biofeedback virtual reality therapy for pain, R34 study on opioid use disorder after surgery, industry funded clinical trials or investigator studies on SCS-Neuromodulation therapy, neuroimmunology of pain, and development of computational methods / models to better assess pain), as well as R44 SBIR funding for a respiratory monitoring device.
