- Under the general direction from the Kelseyville Unified School District's ("District") Director of Student Support Services, the School-Based Mental Health Professional provides school-based mental health services to District students, conducts mental health assessments, facilitates and promotes appropriate mental and behavioral health skills, and may participate at Individualized Education Program ("IEP") meetings including but not limited to goal writing, counseling, and related services.
- The School-Based Mental Health Professional identifies the behavioral and mental health needs of District students and develops goals and objectives for students to progress, and may implement services needed to meet those goals through an individual plan or IEP.
- Education-based mental health and behavioral and education-based methods appropriate to meeting the needs of students and their families, including mental health disorders and substance use disorders.
- Federal and State laws concerning family rights and behavioral and mental health services.
- Behavioral change theories and practices including early intervention positive behavior support.
