- A Peer Recovery Partner provides one-on-one support and outreach to people in the community, at their homes, and/or at the location where the peer works, such as substance use treatment programs or emergency department.
- It is required that a person has experienced substance use challenges as part of their life story to be employed as a Peer Recovery Partner.
- Develop Peer Support relationships with people requesting support through one-on-one meetings and telephone conversations via the Intentional Peer Support model
- Collaborate with substance use peer support team to stay current on relevant training materials on harm reduction, domestic violence, poverty, and navigating advocacy in healthcare systems
- Receive and remain current on training as a Recovery Coach and/or Intentional Peer Support Specialist.
