- Description This is semi-professional civil engineering work of a technical nature involved in the preparation of design plans, engineering studies and construction estimates for City projects.
- Plan Production: Performs or oversees design and drafting work of a more difficult nature in connection with street, water, sewer, drainage and sidewalk construction.
- Assists with Training: Helps train technicians within the Drafting Division on various subjects related to Civil Engineering.
- Office Routines: Participates in or oversees various office routines such as filing, printing, and maintaining maps and data records.
- Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEGraduation from a two-year college or technical school program in design drafting, civil technology, surveying, graphic information systems (GIS) or pre-engineering with advanced course work in computer aided drafting, or GIS supplemented by three years of progressive design work in the civil engineering field.
