- The Chair and Associate Dean of Health Sciences is responsible for the overall management, budget, personnel, resource allocation, and academic planning for the department.
- The Chair and Associate Dean will provide vision, leadership, and direction in the clinical, research, education, and service missions of the department across its 7 divisions including Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, Radiologic Science, Speech and Hearing Sciences.
- An eighth division, Neurodiagnostic Sleep Science, is planned for the fall of 2024.
- The UNC School of Medicine is ranked #5 nationally in NIH funding among public universities.
- In addition to a primary faculty appointment in the Department of Health Sciences, the selected candidate will hold a secondary EHRA Non-Faculty administrative appointment as Department Chair and Associate Dean.
