The position will work closely with staff to refine and enhance existing programs including the Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP), Nourish NY, the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), and Food Support Connections. The position will partner with emergency food providers (EFPs), government agencies, funders, and other stakeholders on the range of programs that we offer. The AVP will serve as a thought partner to the VP in aligning processes and strategies, and they will bring subject matter expertise in the areas of food insecurity, public benefits, and food systems. The AVP will collaborate with all Community Impact units - Health Equity, Education Equity, and Justice & Opportunity - as well as operations units within UWNYC including Resource Development, Marketing and Communications, Human Capital, and Finance to accomplish FBA goals.Primary Responsibilities:Program LeadershipAssist in the development and implementation of new FBA programs and services. Work collaboratively across the Community Impact department to forge creative partnerships that achieve impact.Support fundraising efforts, including identifying funding sources and assisting with applications and reports to funders.Relationship managementDevelop excellent working relationships with stakeholders including emergency food providers, peer groups, government partners, funders, vendors, and subcontractors.Align with Government Relations to develop and promote FBA policy priorities.Serve as FBA representative on emergency food and benefits access working groups and coalitions.Team ManagementAssist with the management of a diverse team and serve as a thought partner in developing team structure, roles, team building activities and strategies, accountability, succession and transition plans, etc.Collaborate with and support FBA program leaders to create, track, adhere to, and modify workplans and budgets.Serve as a key liaison with internal departments (Finance, Organizational Learning, and Development, etc.) to ensure alignment and common goals.Operations LeadershipFacilitate coordination across the FBA team to document and enhance grantmaking tools and  team in adhering to narrative, financial and other reports due to funders and partners.Support the development and ongoing review of the FBA annual plan and  Results Count Framework to track team goals.Conduct site visits of emergency food providers across the city. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, social sciences, nutrition, public health, social work, or a related field plus ten years of experience, or a Master's degree plus five years of experienceSupervisory and team management experience.
