- Reports to the Head Cook to serve food to children ages infants thru 12 years old.
- Under supervision of the Head Cook, the Assistant Cook is responsible for assisting the Head Cook in preparing, cooking and serving all food in the center in accordance with the standards set forth by the U.S.D.A. Food Program and NYS OCFS regulations.
- Under supervision of the Head Cook, the Assistant Cook is responsible for assisting the Head Cook in maintaining the kitchen in a sanitary and efficient condition in accordance with standards set forth by the Nassau County Department of Health.
- Follows all CACFP guidelines.
- Works with the Head Cook in washing dishes and utensils according to sanitary practices, and maintains kitchen equipment and food storage rooms in clean, sanitary and orderly condition.
