Heavy Civil Project Engineer

Project Engineer -Heavy Civil Terra Site Constructors, dba Terra Constructs has an immediate need for Project Engineer with experience working on Heavy Civil projects. The position is responsible for reviewing design and bidding documents, evaluating contractor bids, and overseeing construction progress and scheduling. They provide technical support to the construction staff un the supervision of the Project Manager. Duties and Responsibilities: Supporting the Project Manager reviews plans and other technical documents. Provides accurate and timely cost estimates on projects. Reviews plans and construction documents to insure they are complete and consistent. Responsible for monitoring costs and project progress on an ongoing basis. Develops and maintains/updates project records on a regular basis. Ensures that project schedules are maintained and adhered to and assists in the resolution of scheduling conflicts and issues. Handles project closeouts on projects. Responsible for insuring that required permits are obtained and in place on projects. Assists the project team in the resolution of conflicts that might arise between owner, contractor, and subcontractor. Manages and negotiates change-orders. Works with the project team on the development of the site safety plan and ensures appropriate documentation/reporting is in place. Works with vendors in pricing, ordering and insuring delivery of materials needed on the project. Education, Experience and Other Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Civil Engineering preferred. 1- 3 years of experience working in a Heavy Civil Construction environment. Excellent computer skills, i.e., Procore, Microsoft Office and other applicable software programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and meeting tight deadlines. Ability to work independently.
