We are expanding into Elder Law and Estate Planning, and we are looking for an experienced attorney to lead and grow this new practice area.This is the right opportunity if you are a skilled elder law attorney who also wants a seat at the table — someone ready to shape a practice, not just join one.About the Position You will serve as the lead attorney for MWA's Elder Law and Estate Planning division, handling the full range of matters clients and families face as they navigate aging and long-term care:Medicaid planning and asset protection strategiesWills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directivesCrisis and pre-crisis long-term care planningOversight of Medicaid applications and qualificationAs the division grows, you will have the opportunity to build and mentor a support team, and to develop referral relationships with financial advisors, geriatric physicians, hospital discharge planners, and senior living communities throughout Houston. What We're Looking ForActive Texas Bar license (or licensure in another state with a commitment to obtaining Texas licensure)5–10 years of experience in elder law, Medicaid planning, estate planning, or a closely related areaGenuine interest in growing a practice — you're comfortable meeting referral partners, speaking at community events, and building relationshipsStrong people skills; this work requires earning the trust of elderly clients and their families during stressful timesCompensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $98,000 – $120,000, commensurate with experiencePerformance bonus tied to revenue growthHealth, Dental & Vision InsuranceLife Insurance401(k) matchPaid Time Off This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
