Assigns duties to ensure work tasks are accomplished efficiently and ensures that adequate staff and supplies are available for the shift. Reviews and updates policies and procedures to ensure compliance with JCAHO, Federal, State, and Local regulations and standards. Prepares, evaluates, and controls the department's annual budget. Regularly surveys departmental procedures for adherence to acceptable cleaning practices, ensuring compliance with State/Federal regulations and standards. Supervises all staff by assigning work, training, hiring, evaluating performance, implementing progressive discipline, and recommending termination as appropriate. Resolves patient satisfaction concerns in a timely manner. Manages the distribution and accountability of clean linen supplies. Manages clean linen distribution and maintains tracking and accountability of linen supplies. Conducts regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met. Manages reporting logs in the department, including Attendance, Hazardous Materials Monthly inspections, and Hazardous Books compliance. Coordinates the ATP-GEL process and compliance, reporting inspections to leadership to ensure staff notification and training, if applicable. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to read, comprehend at the 12th grade level [Preferred]Ability to use Outlook email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel [Preferred]Ability to hand write and type reports of activities that have occurred on shift [Preferred]Ability to assist in maintaining man-hours and supply costs [Required]Ability to manage the day-to-day activities in supervising staff including training, hiring, terminations, orienting, and evaluating performance [Required]Knowledge about best environmental practices [Required]Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) [Preferred]Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English [Required]Education:* Associate [Preferred]* High School Grad or Equiv [Required]Field of Study:* from a regionally-accredited academic institution or have made significant progress toward such a degree. The Master's degree or the graduate coursework must be either in the assigned area of education or in an area that directly contributes to the professional assignment* from a regionally-accredited academic institution.
