Prior Authorizations Specialist - Gastroenterology - West Valley City/Fairbourne - Full-Time

Granger Medical is looking for a full-time Prior Authorization Specialist at our West Valley City/Fairbourne location.***Prior Authorizations experience required.Overview:The ideal candidate will be confident, self-motivated, and compassionate. The Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for verifying patient insurance information and obtaining prior authorizations for scheduled procedures to ensure timely patient care and proper reimbursement.Essential Functions and Duties:Confirm patient insurance information and determine authorization requirementsObtain prior authorizations for scheduled procedures, services, and treatmentsCommunicate with insurance carriers to ensure accurate and timely processing of requestsFollow up on pending authorizations and document updates as neededNotify appropriate staff of authorization approvals, denials, or additional requirementsMaintain accurate and detailed records of all authorization activitiesPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Basic computer knowledge and proficiency requiredKnowledge of surgical procedures and insurance authorization processes preferredUnderstanding of medical terminologyStrong verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and a positive attitudeStrong organizational and time management skillsEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior experience in healthcare, insurance verification, or prior authorizations preferredExperience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferredPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to lift up to 10 pounds as neededRepetitive motion associated with operating a computer and office equipmentWork performed in an indoor, climate-controlled environmentGranger Medical Clinic offers competitive wages, potential for quarterly bonuses, and excellent benefits.
