Product Development and Technical Design Assistant

We support our clients’ design and development processes through creative concepts, deep technical expertise, and a global network of factories and suppliers—playing an integral role in their product supply chains to drive efficiency and innovationStateless is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive **Product Development & Technical Design Assistant** to support our fast-paced, fashion-led creative team. This role is ideal for someone with fashion experience who thrives on multitasking, taking initiative, and jumping in wherever needed.This person will support product development, technical design, and some office administration. The right candidate is agile, confident, curious, and not afraid of assistant-level work. We are looking for a true mover and shaker — someone who can keep up with multiple team members requesting tasks, stay organized under pressure, and bring positive energy and smart solutions to the team.Key Responsibilities:Support the Product Development and Technical Design teams with day-to-day tasks.Assist with swatch duplication, fabric organization, trim tracking, and material development.Run errands and factory/sample drop-offs and pickups throughout the NYC Garment District.Help coordinate development samples, fabric headers, lab dips, trims, submits, and related materials.Measure garments accurately against spec sheets and points of measure.Review samples with strong attention to detail and flag discrepancies in measurements, construction, or quality.Assist with updating and organizing spec sheets, tech packs, development notes, and sample comments.Track samples, swatches, trims, packages, and development materials.Support fittings by preparing garments, spec sheets, measuring tools, and related materials.Help maintain organization of the sample room, fabric library, trim library, and development areas.Assist with office administration, including organizing supplies, filing, scanning, shipping, scheduling, and general team support.Communicate clearly with internal team members, factories, vendors, and external partners as needed.Take direction from multiple team members while managing priorities and deadlines.Proactively identify ways to improve organization, workflow, and development processes.Jump in wherever needed to support the team in a fast-paced creative environment.Measure development samples prior to fittingsAttend fittings in-office as neededTrack and manage fit samples, packages, and development statusAttend design review and approval meetings with cross-functional teams as neededSome office administrative work: unpack all development packages from factories and organize the contents in the office, alert appropriate team members and be helpful with any further follow upFedex label making, drop off packages at Fedex as neededRequirements & Qualifications* Fashion industry experience required.* Product development and/or technical design experience strongly preferred.* Comfortable measuring garments against spec sheets and understanding points of measure.* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.* Highly organized and able to manage many moving pieces at once.* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative, fashion-led environment.* Able to take direction from multiple people while staying calm, focused, and efficient.* Strong communication skills and willingness to ask thoughtful questions.* Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented.* Comfortable with assistant-level work, errands, organization, and hands-on support.* Familiarity with the NYC Garment District is a plus.* Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and sample development is a plus.* Basic knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, Adobe Illustrator, or tech pack systems is helpful.## Ideal Candidate* You are a go-getter who likes being busy and useful.* You are organized, detail-obsessed, and able to stay ahead of tasks.* You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and help with whatever is needed.* You ask questions, take notes, follow through, and communicate clearly.* You can move quickly without losing accuracy.* You are comfortable supporting multiple team members and shifting priorities throughout the day.* You bring positive energy, confidence, and a proactive attitude.* You understand that great assistant work requires ownership, urgency, and pride.* You thrive in a creative environment and have ideas on how to make processes better.You Will Sweep Us Off Our Feet If* You love multitasking and are extremely organized.* You have experience in both product development and technical design.* You are confident measuring garments and reviewing samples.* You know your way around the NYC Garment District.* You can anticipate what needs to be done before being asked.* You are eager to learn, grow, and become an important part of the team.* You bring both assistant-level hustle and leadership-level initiative.Work Environment* Fast-paced, creative, and fashion-focused.* Hands-on role with a mix of office work, sample organization, development support, garment measuring, and local factory/vendor runs.* Best suited for someone who is agile, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
