We are seeking a talented, experienced Senior Thermal Systems Engineer to help define the future of lunar surface mobility in a fast-paced startup environment. The main responsibilities for this role will be to help supervise requirements management, standards compliance, verification, validation, and testing activities, to define/contribute to and maintain subsystem interfaces, and to serve in a technical oversight role for vendors and subcontractors working on the thermal system.Key Responsibilities:Work closely with the Thermal Subsystem Integrated Product Team Lead to help verify design compliance of the Thermal Control Subsystem of the vehicleManage and generate interface control packages in coordination with other IPTsWork with IPT lead, program management, and central systems engineering to generate, evolve, and/or manage program inputs like scheduling and budgetsMaintain and update key technical budgets and associated performance metrics for the vehicle in cooperation with other IPTsHelp coordinate procurement of thermal control hardware in line with the program scheduleServe as the technical point of contact for vendors and subcontractors in cooperation with the IPT leadHelp coordinate testing and instrumentation of thermal control hardware in component, sub-system, and/or vehicle- level testing in cooperation with the Thermal IPT Lead and Vehicle AI&T Lead.Assist in the design, planning, and execution of verification and test activitiesInspect installed engineering unit and flight unit thermal control hardware for compliance with drawings and requirementsContribute to systems engineering analyses relevant to thermal subsystemRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, Systems, or other relevant engineering fieldA minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experienceExperience with spacecraft AI&T campaignsExperience working with spacecraft Active and Passive Thermal Control Systems EngineeringExperience with managing interface controlsExperience with hardware procurementand vendor managementExperience in leading requirement verification and validation effortsSelf-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlinesExcellent organization and time management skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience with program scheduling andU.S. PersonPreferred Qualifications:Experience with spacecraft fluid management systems and/or pressurized componentsExperience presenting at program milestone reviews, such as Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews and Testing, and Manufacturing Readiness ReviewsHands-on experience with Subsystem and/or Vehicle-level Thermal Cycle, Thermal Balance, and TVAC testingExperience with standards compliance and tailoring, including NASA standards and range safetySome familiarity with Thermal DesktopExperience working on a NASA Class A program
