Phlebotomist

Job Title: Bilingual PhlebotomistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bilingual Phlebotomist with at least two years of recent experience in phlebotomy. The ideal candidate will be proficient with straight needles, able to perform venipunctures independently from day one, and possess strong communication skills in both English and Spanish.Responsibilities+ Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.+ Update patient information and collect/store specimens following established procedures.+ Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.+ Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.+ Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.+ Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.+ Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures.+ Ensure the integrity of specimens by following outlined protocols for transport.Essential Skills+ At least 2 years of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.+ Proficiency with straight needles and ability to perform blood draws independently.+ Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in the Bronx, with working hours from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, and rotating Saturdays. This role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring punctuality and reliability.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bronx, NY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
