Job SummaryGW Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Supervisor – Emergency Department to lead and support the nursing team in our fast-paced, high-acuity Emergency Department. The Clinical Supervisor will provide leadership, oversight, and clinical expertise, ensuring that patient care standards are maintained while fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment. Key Responsibilities:Provide clinical leadership and supervision for emergency department nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with established protocols and best practices.Assist with staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet the fluctuating demands of the Emergency Department.Collaborate with the ED management team to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies, while promoting a culture of safety and quality.Act as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff, providing guidance and support in complex and high-acuity cases.Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and emergency preparedness efforts to enhance patient care and department efficiency.Lead and support the implementation of evidence-based practices, policies, and procedures aimed at improving patient outcomes and staff performance.Foster an environment of collaboration, communication, and accountability among the ED team, promoting professional development and continuous improvement.Main Benefits:Challenging and rewarding work environmentGrowth and Development Opportunities within UHS and its SubsidiariesCompetitive CompensationExcellent Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription Drug Plan401k plan with company matchLeadership development programs and tuition assistance Qualifications Current RN license in the state of Washington, D.C., or be DC eligible.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience in an emergency or critical care setting.Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced healthcare environment.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team in a high-pressure setting.Ability to lead quality improvement initiatives and promote adherence to safety and regulatory standards.About GW HospitalThe George Washington University Hospital is a 395-bed tertiary care, academic medical center located in downtown Washington, DC.
