Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations of materials, facilities and methods employed by Reliance companies in metals processing and distribution.Physical RequirementsWalk (Move, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (Ascend/Descend, Work atop, Traverse), Stoop, kneel, crouch, or Crawl (Position self to), Move), Talk/hear (Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess), Pushing or Pulling, Repetitive Motion, ReachingFunction in the JobMedium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Job FunctionGenerally responsible for completing basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.Responsible for moving inventory or equipment, filling customer orders, pulling material from racks, unloading incoming material, loading trucks and/or customer vehicles, & helping maintain the upkeep of the warehouse.Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations.Pulls and assembles orders based on reviewing work/shipping orders or other documentation.Tags material for proper identification and completes all required documentation.Moves material from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas using forklift, side loader, or crane.Operates Forklifts, Side Loaders, and Order pickers for the purpose of loading and unloading racks, trailers and containers.Operates CraneMaintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.Sorts and places material on rack, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.Spot checks on inventory, completes daily and/or ad hoc checks for proper tagging of material, as directed.Reports any irregularities to supervisor for direction.Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.Retrieves material and transfers stock to band saws manually, with forklift, or by crane.Operates band saws and observes cutting operation.Installs saw blade in band saws and sets blade cutting speed for specified operation.Removal of band saw blades.Inputs data to set band saw parameters based on shop work order specifications.May manually position material using back stops in band saw.Measures work for conformance to specifications, using ruler, tape measure, and measuring calipers.Required SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent minimumAbility to quickly learn multiple functions in a complex industry.Must be able to work in a team environment.Knowledge of operating industrial equipment, Band Saws preferred.Ability to communicate well with others.Good mathematical skills including measurements.Ability to use and read measuring equipment such as calipers and measuring tapes.Ability to be able to operate a crane.Ability to be able to operate a forklift.Self-motivated and can act on own initiative.Experienced working to targets and deadlines.Adaptable and have a positive attitude towards change.Motivated, communicative and goal oriented.Ability to stand for extended periods of time.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
