Material Handler - 1st Shift

Material Handler - 1st ShiftUnder the supervision of the Supervisor, the Material Handler's primary function is to manage the physical movement of materialssuch as raw goods, components, and finished productswithin warehouses, production areas, and shipping/receiving zones, contributing to smooth operations and inventory accuracy.Essential Job Functions:Pull finished goods from stock to complete orders using barcoding systems accurately and efficientlyStack materials securely to prevent damage during transportation and shippingExecute system transactions in MRP/ERP and generate required reportsComplete daily inventory cycle counts following standardized work instructionsUnload finished goods from outfeed conveyor to palletsManage scrap materialsMove completed pallets to shipping areaLoad raw materials and offcuts into the inventory systemPerform quality inspections on finished goods to ensure compliance with standardsCoordinate to ensure shipments are packaged and shipped ahead of due datesWrap and crate completed orders using cardboard and wood materials to protect goods during transitPackage finished goods for parcel shipments and process through FedEx / UPS systemsLoad and unload trucks in a timely and safe mannerCoordinate daily activities within the department to meet shipping schedulesIdentify and communicate potential late orders to SupervisorMaintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging and crating areaWork safely and effectively, adhering to all company safety protocolsPartner with Supervisor and team members to ensure departmental goals are metOther duties as requiredKnowledge, Skill & Experience Requirements:1-3 years' experience in a material handling role in distribution or warehouse operations environment (packaging, crating, handling hardware components)Thorough knowledge of packaging standards and techniques to prevent freight damageFamiliarity with barcoding systems and ERP softwareProven experience with material handling - ability to handle and stack materials with care to prevent damageAbility to operate hand tools and equipment used in wood cratingGeneral understanding of shipping practices and documentationCapable of flexibility and teamwork in a multi-functional work cell.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality standardsEffective communication skills with supervisor and teamDemonstrates initiative, strong work ethic, and willingness to learnStrong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate inventoryStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsReliable worker who can commit toAvailable for overtime when necessary to meet operational needsForklift experience and certification preferredThe standard schedule for 1st shift is Monday-Friday, 6:00AM-2:30PM.The compensation range(s) identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on compensable factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training, and other relevant business and organizational factors.
