2nd Shift - Route Runner/Material Handler

Job Summary:The Material Handler/Box Truck Driver performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies. From time to time, this position will also be responsible for transporting goods around each facility utilizing a medium-sized box truck.Duties/Responsibilities:Assists with or oversees loading and unloading of goodsDelivers WIP (Work in Process) material to various departments to support the manufacturing processExamines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectifyCompletes paperwork or forms required for documentationDetermines method of replenishment utilizing knowledge of procedures and routesPreparing materials from storage to assembly lineOperates material handling equipment such as part carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storageInspects the vehicle pre- and post-tripRequired Skills/Abilities:Oral and written communication skillsTime management and organizational skills to keep track of inter-department deliveries and stay on scheduleExceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with other employeesAttention to detailAbility to understand and follow directionsClerical skillsBasic computer skillsAbility to lift/move heavy objectsPhysical staminaEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or GED preferredExperience driving a company vehiclePerforms work under minimal supervisionPhysical Requirements:Ability to get up and sit down many times throughout the dayAbility to lift to 50 pounds
