Surgery - Plastic Physician

A high-impact locum opportunity is available for a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to provide 24-hour trauma call coverage at a busy hospital serving a large patient population. This role is ideal for surgeons with experience in hand trauma and reconstructive procedures who are comfortable responding to emergency cases. Position Highlights ️ Specialty: Plastic Surgery Location: Lansing, MI Start Date: May 2026 (ASAP coverage needed) Assignment Length: Through December 2026 ️ Providers Needed: 1 Shift Type: 24-Hour On-Call Schedule: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM Practice Setting: Level I Trauma Center Patient Population: Ages 15+ (Adolescent to Geriatric) Clinical Responsibilities Provide 24-hour trauma call coverage for plastic and hand-related cases Perform traumatic hand reconstruction and repair procedures Manage facial laceration repairs and soft tissue injuries Perform skin grafts, flap procedures, and scar revisions Provide minor burn care when needed Respond in person when surgical intervention is required Case Volume• Approximately 1 surgical case per month on average• Summer months: Around 3 cases per month• Emergency Department sees approximately 90,000 visits annually Clinic & Support• Trauma Clinic support available• Clinic Hours: Tuesdays, 9:00 AM 12:00 PM• Strong multidisciplinary trauma team Travel Coverage• Flight reimbursement• Hotel accommodations• Mileage or car rental reimbursement Requirements Board Certified in Plastic Surgery (within 5 years of training) Active Michigan Medical License (must be full license) NPDB Self-Query within 30 days BLS & ACLS preferred Must be comfortable with hand trauma and reconstructive procedures Interested in learning more?Send your CV and availability, and I d be happy to share additional details about this opportunity!
