PhlebotomistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and independent Inpatient Phlebotomist to join our team at a Level 1 Trauma Hospital. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an inpatient setting and be capable of performing phlebotomy procedures with minimal supervision. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely collection of blood samples for diagnostic testing, contributing to the high standard of patient care in our facility.ResponsibilitiesPerform venipunctures and capillary punctures to obtain blood samples from patients.Ensure proper identification and labeling of all specimens.Maintain accurate records of all blood draws and patient interactions.Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.Manage and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies.Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.Essential SkillsExperience in inpatient settingKnowledge of basic laboratory procedures, terminology, and correct specimen collection procedures.Proficiency in blood draw techniques, including venipunctures, heel sticks, and pediatric/adolescent draws.Additional Skills & Qualifications* Experience working with diverse populations that may present with social vulnerabilities, stigmatization, or have a history of experiencing barriers to health care such as mental health, opioid addiction, poverty, unstable housing, etc.* Familiarity with Epic or similar healthcare management systems.Work EnvironmentWorking in a hospital setting, this role provides an opportunity to build inpatient experience. Candidates will conduct rounds in the hospital with a phlebotomy cart, performing draws on admitted patients. The schedule includes rotating start times of 04:00 AM - 12:30 PM and 05:00 AM - 01:30 PM, Monday-Friday with every other weekend.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
