They implement and plan activities, games, arts and crafts, and special events throughout the day to keep teens engaged. They lead and guide teens between the ages of 11 - 15. One full week of training required prior to the start of camp. Camp runs from Monday - Friday with some evenings and weekends. Must be able to participate in all scheduled activities and programs with teens.Training for position to begin June 22, 2026Camp Runs from June 29, 2026 through August 7, 2026.Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. Shift Work: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm or 9:00 am to 5:00 pmAll new employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. A conditional offer of employment may then be made contingent upon the successful completion of fingerprinting, drug, and TB tests.This is a Non-Exempt Position.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervises, chaperones, and ensures the safety and wellbeing of teens ages 11 - 15 in an adventure camp.Assists camp supervisor with planning, organizing, and implementing various recreational activities for teensMust be able to properly supervise teens and respond immediately in case of emergency, including administering first aid as necessaryFollow appropriate training and lead small group activities in an atmosphere where teens are actively engaged in meaningful learning and recreational experiencesAssist in the enforcement of program rulesMaintain discipline and enforce proper safety precautionsDemonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilitiesMust be able to safely drive a 12-passenger van and transport teens to various locations dailyEnsure all equipment and materials are accessible, appropriate, and in good conditionEnforce all site and State regulationsMaintains regular and punctual on-site attendanceReports to and communicates with the Teen Camp Supervisor.Minimum Training and ExperienceQUALIFICATIONS:Must be 19 years or olderMust possess a valid driver's license in good standingAbility to drive a 12-passenger vanExperience working with teens ages 11-15Experience in organizing and implementing age-appropriate games and special eventsAbility to stimulate interest in and direct a variety of recreational activitiesCPR and First Aid Certification PreferredAbility to deal with the public, program participants and other employees in a pleasant and courteous manner as required by the positionAbility to follow and understand oral and written instructionAmericans with Disabilities Act ComplianceThe Town of Vienna is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
