Lead Technician B, Sterilization

Job Type: Support Staff - Union Bargaining Unit: SSA Regular/Temporary: Regular Hours Per Week: 35 Salary Range: $55,112.05 - $55,112.05 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Under the direction of the Sterilization Manager, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining the sterilization area and all instrumentation that requires reprocessing. Lead Technician B, Sterilization, serves as a senior member of the sterilization team, providing guidance and coordination of daily workflow under the direction of the Supervisor/Manager. While Lead Technician B, Sterilization, may assist in delegating tasks and facilitating communication among staff during the Supervisor's absence, this position does not include supervisory authority. A Supervisor or designated officer will always be on call to provide managerial oversight and support as needed. Responsibilities Inspect, package and sterilize dental instruments and materials and operate the sterilization equipment according to protocol. Will collect soiled instrumentation and deliver clean instrumentation according to schedule. Prioritize the assembly of trays / cassettes and instruments to meet the needs of various specialties. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sterilization area according to the policy. Incumbent must adhere strictly to safety, sterilization, handling and technical regulations. Performs additional related duties as assigned to support the department's operations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, plus three (3) years of related experience required. Completion of sterile processing training program with a certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from HSPA / IAHCSMM Other Requirements As part of the selection process, candidates' work performance histories will be reviewed to ensure alignment with the standards and expectations of the role. Lead Technician B, Sterilization is expected to maintain flexibility to cover shifts and support departmental operations as needed.
