The Associate Vice President, Deputy General Counsel for Employment and Immigration is a key team member in the Office of the General Counsel reporting to and performing services under the direction of the Senior Vice President and General Counsel for VCU Health System.

The Vice President, Legal is responsible for managing all legal affairs of GMAC and its corporate subsidiaries, providing oversight, responsibility, and advice for a wide range of legal matters, including those related to corporate compliance, data protection and privacy, intellectual property, contracts, labor and employment, and risk management.

Oversee and manage the legal department, its staff and outside counsel, as necessary, in supporting the global legal affairs of GMAC, including the areas of corporate compliance, data protection and privacy, intellectual property, contracts, tax-exemption, subsidiary compliance, labor and employment, legislative affairs, and litigation, and risk management.

10 years' legal experience, preferably 2+ years advising companies as in-house counsel capacity. Provide legal advice and management of investigations, complaints, and litigation, including labor and employment, customer service, contracts, data protection matters, test accommodations, test security, and intellectual property matters.

Provide assistance in developing legal and transactional advice and support as directed by the Assistant Vice President and Coverage Counsel. Support Assistant Vice President and Coverage Counsel in contract drafting and review.

The position reports to the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Human Resources. Provide overall legal and compliance support to the Human Resources function at the direction of the VP and Deputy General Counsel, HR.

Prior experience as a successful law firm partner in a well-respected Detroit-area law firm that serves legal departments, or as a senior in-house counsel in a Detroit-area legal department, is highly preferred.

The Associate General Counsel will be an integral part of the legal team, working closely with the Chief Legal Officer, Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel and broader legal department to advise LA28’s senior management on legal matters.

Prior experience as a successful law firm partner in a well-respected Chicago-area law firm that serves legal departments, or as a senior in-house counsel in a Chicago-area legal department, is highly preferred.

This position will report to the Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel. Serve as a legal advisor to the Chief Legal Officer and SVP & Deputy General Counsel, senior management and division heads on identified transactions and legal matters to support the delivery of the Games.
