- The Associate Vice President, Deputy General Counsel for Employment and Immigration is a key team member in the Office of the General Counsel reporting to and performing services under the direction of the Senior Vice President and General Counsel for VCU Health System.
- The role provides legal support to clients across VCUHS, with a focus on advising and counseling on day-to-day as well as non-routine employment, labor, and related compliance matters, drafting and reviewing employment-related agreements, drafting position statements and other submissions to state/federal administrative agencies, conducting training, and supporting internal investigations.
- In addition, the AVP Deputy General Counsel for Employment and Immigration oversees internal and external counsel on immigration and employment laws and regulations.
- Ensures responsibility and visible commitment of diversity equity and inclusion strategy, programs, and initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health system.
- Juris Doctor or equivalent degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
