- The Violence Prevention Specialist in the Violence Prevention program of Gulf Coast JFCS is a non-exempt position responsible for developing and planning unique, effective, and comprehensive strategies for the implementation and teaching of the Second Step, SEL curriculum school-wide through classroom instruction, small groups and teacher/parent training.
- Ensure that all children receiving violence prevention classroom instruction and participating in skill groups complete all surveys and forms required by Gulf Coast and the Juvenile Welfare Board (JWB).
- Keep the Student Services Team and Principal aware of students receiving skill-building services by providing a list of students in group each quarter.
- Hours follow the 10-month schedule (calendar) of Pinellas County Schools
- At least one (1) year direct experience with at-risk youth.
