- The Vice President for Government and Community Relations is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic government advocacy and community relations efforts at the local, state, and federal levels for University of Vermont Health Network.
- The Vice President serves as a public liaison with external elected officials, groups and partners and oversees external strategic engagement.
- Working across internal administrative and clinical departments, this position develops external relations and advocacy initiatives designed to enhance the reputation of the not-for-profit academic health system as a leader in health care delivery in the region, as well as advancing the role of the system as an approachable and responsible partner – both locally and regionally.
- The Vice President collaborates with internal partners working in external relations, including Communications and Engagement Strategies, Development, and other partner-specific external-facing departments.
- In addition to reporting to the Chief External Relations Officer, this position works closely with, the Presidents of Network partners, Network Senior Leaders, Network and partner Boards of Trustees, and the Chief Executive Officer.
