- The Substance Use Specialists perform initial drug use assessments, provide individual and group counseling sessions and contribute to person/family centered, trauma informed treatment planning for program clients.
- Provide substance use treatment as a member of a multidisciplinary care team to clients enrolled in NCCBHC using team-based approach to treatment working collaboratively with therapists, psychiatrists/PNPs, peer specialist, case managers, nurses, and family members
- Provide services that are person/family-centered, strengths-based, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally competent
- Provide individual counseling, relapse prevention, psychoeducation, and harm reduction using motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) responses
- Act as an advocate and liaison for clients in securing access to MAT, emergency detox and rehabilitation care, and other community supports that promote integrated substance use or dual disorder treatment
