- Dr. Stephen DiNardo's laboratory in the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology is seeking a full time Research Specialist A. Their primary responsibility will be conducting goal-oriented experiments.
- Additional responsibilities include laboratory upkeep (making solutions, assist in the care and maintenance of fruit flies, preparing DNA samples and running PCR reactions and gel electrophoresis, general laboratory maintenance and ordering of supplies and equipment).
- Experiments will be designed by the Principal Investigator or senior lab personnel, but the Research Specialist A is expected to modify/troubleshoot procedures, assist in planning the protocol, and report progress to the PI. The Research Specialist A will also keep accurate notebooks, perform data analysis and assist in publication preparation.
- Handle controlled substances such as pharmaceutical, radiological or hazardous materials; Have access to sensitive data related to research projects and grants such as intellectual property.
