- The City of Mesa is pleased to offer a hiring bonus for individuals hired as a Public Safety 911 Operator, $1,000 will be paid upon successful completion of the Mesa Police Department Public Safety 911 Operator classroom training program and $1,000 will be paid one year after completion of the training.
- Employees in the Public Safety 911 Operator classification are also eligible to apply for promotion to Police Dispatcher Trainee ($58,484.19 - $72,855.12 Annually) after successful completion of the Mesa Police Department Public Safety 911 Operator classroom training.
- Public Safety 911 Operators work in the Police Communications Center, which is a twenty-four hour, seven days per week operation involving multi-agency dispatching and a valley-wide automatic aide system.
- The Public Safety 911 Operator can be distinguished from the Police Dispatcher by the latter's additional responsibility for Police dispatch duties.
- Experience in the operation of a multi-line phone system or radio communications system is desirable.
