- The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced health planner to provide expert support for COGs regional public health programs, and specifically to be lead staff for the Health Officials Committee and COGs staffhealth expert advisor for the Human Services Policy Committee, Region Forward Coalition, and the COG Board of Directors.
- Examples of subject areas include: pandemic and infectious disease; health-in-all policies, health impact assessment, health goals, indicators and trends analysis; access to healthcare, mental health, and substance abuse; environmental health including drinking water quality and air quality; emergency event preparation and response; and specific health issues as identified as focus areas.
- Make presentations to the HOC, Human Services, Planning and Public Safety Committee, Region Forward Coalition, and COG Board on regional health issues.
- Coordinate with COGs Department of Homeland Security and Public Safety (HSPS) staff on regional emergency preparedness and response.
- Coordinate with COGs environmental committees and Environmental Programs staff on regional drinking water health and regional air quality and other health issues.
