- Provides peer recovery support services to patients enrolled in substance use disorder (SUD) and/or mental health services at the inpatient, residential and/or outpatient program level.
- The recovery support services include educational groups, coaching, engagement, transportation, providing urine screenings, supervision, patient advocacy, and coordination of needed patient services that promote recovery, resiliency, and self- sufficiency.
- Peer Support Specialist Staff members are individuals that have completed the necessary education and obtained a Peer Support Specialist Certification through an accredited Drug and Alcohol Education Provider and assist patients navigate through the early recovery stages and treatment requirements that are outlined by the levels of care that they are enrolled in.
- Peer Support Specialists may also act as a liaison between patients and other care providers.
- Provide patient escort and transportation services to and from activities and events and during such activities as needed.
