- The Construction Technician performs a wide range of skilled construction tasks including maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning in facilities and equipment at a level not requiring formal licensure.
- The Construction Technician practices preventative maintenance of tools and equipment and complies with federal regulations governing safety, environmental protection, hazardous waste disposal, and the use of chemical substances and materials common to construction.
- Experience: At least four years of successful experience in carpentry building trades such as wood and metal stud framing, drywall, painting, carpet and floorcoverings, suspended ceilings, doors and hardware, finish carpentry such as trim and millwork, etc.is required.
- Skills: Proficiency in some or all of the carpentry trades noted above is required, including the ability to use shop tools and equipment, small hand and power tools, precision measuring and testing devices, and various building trades materials.
- Other: The scope of the position requires exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, cleaners, and lubricants common to the construction trades that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followed.
