The position exists to ensure the legal and safe management, control, and disposal of hazardous materials at Kansas State University through direct handling of hazardous materials and waste, facility compliance inspections and by providing consultation to the campus community (i.e., principal investigators, faculty, staff and students) about environmental regulatory requirements.

Transport hazardous materials and waste to the UVA Special Materials Handling Facility (SMHF) in a manner that is safe and compliant with US Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.

Oversee cleanup of hazardous waste sites, smoking and sludge enforcement, wellhead protection, used oil collection, local enforcement agency for solid waste, and certified unified program agency for hazardous waste, water supply and sewage systems, insect , rodent and rabies control, sanitation in hotels, camps, public schools and buildings, private residences, hazardous materials/waste.

Implementing, monitoring, and participating in the development of site environmental, health and safety programs (Contractor Safety, Ergonomics, Laboratory and Chemical Safety, Hazardous Waste, Wastewater, laboratory inspections, etc.

Conduct inspections of hazardous waste accumulation and storage, universal waste storage, eye wash/shower, outdoor equipment storm water collection areas, construction SWPPP BMP, industrial SWPPP BMP's, weekly safety inspections, first aid kits, fire extinguisher, emergency lighting/exits, self-contained breathing apparatus, spill prevention countermeasures and control plan, fork lift, boom lift, scissor lift, fall protection equipment, lifting straps and slings.

Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified for Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified. This job works under the supervision of the Medical Director or approved staff physician and in association with the PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinator in the planning, implementation and evaluation of medical and nursing care; and assumes responsibility for primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of all critically ill patients, teaching of residents and medical students, staff development and education, patient education and discharge planning.
