<p>Mercy Medical Center Springfield, MA $8,000 Sign-on Bonus</p>
<p>This person is responsible for providing highly skilled analysis of blood, fluids, and tissue samples. Takes smears of cell samples, stains samples, and places smears on slides.</p>
<h3>What you will do</h3>
<ul>
<li>Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.</li>
<li>Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures</li>
<li>Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment</li>
</ul>
<h3>Position Hours</h3>
<p>40 hours, Evening Shift, e/o weekend & rotating holidays</p>
<h3>Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college/university or Associate's Degree in an MLT certification program.</li>
<li>MT, MLS or MLT-ASCP or equivalent level certification by one of the professional societies. Or must be eligible to obtain certification within the first year of employment.</li>
<li>Prior experience preferred, in one or more of the following: Blood Bank, Microbiology, Bacteriology, Virology, Parasitology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology, Immunology, Molecular Diagnostics, Core Lab, Hematology, Coagulation, Routine Chemistry, Urinalysis), and Special Chemistry.</li>
