The Stow Company is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Supervisor. We are the country's premier source for custom closets and organizational solutions; designed, custom-cut, and shipped to our clients from our world class manufacturing facility in Holland, MI. Purpose of Position The purpose of the Manufacturing Supervisor position is to: <ul><li>Train and develop your direct reports </li><li>Ensure standards are being followed </li><li>Improve the work that is being done </li></ul> Essential Functions and Responsibilities: <ul><li>Ensure all team members are trained to perform job tasks safely and correctly </li><li>Enforce a safe work environment in coordination with Stow's 5S standards </li><li>Communicate company news and issues to hourly team members </li><li>Motivate team members to meet all process targets and quality expectations </li><li>Enforce disciplinary actions to hold team members accountable to company policy and procedures </li><li>Manage department scheduling and labor efficiency </li><li>Manage department performance reviews and encourage individual growth and development </li><li>Drive efficiency, work standards, processes and procedures </li><li>Coordinate with process engineers to maintain accurate documentation of work standards and training </li><li>Lead daily and long-term continuous improvement initiatives </li></ul> Basic Qualifications: Education & Experience: <ul><li>Bachelor's Degree preferred, ideally in Engineering, Logistics, or Business </li><li>3+ years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing facility</li><li>Previous experience in Lean manufacturing </li></ul> Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: <ul><li>Demonstrated leadership and team building abilities </li><li>Demonstrated ability to motivate people </li><li>Ability to effectively teach and train others; assess and develop team member skills </li><li>Strong ability to be adaptable and flexible </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think innovatively </li><li>Proficiency with computer systems; including MS Office Suite, ERP systems, web-based programs, etc. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with groups and lead decision-making processes in a team environment </li></ul> Physical Qualifications: <ul><li>Ability to assist with lifting or moving product while working with the teams </li><li>Ability to spend large amounts of time on the plant floor </li></ul> Manufacturing Supervisor Schedule: <ul><li>1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:15am - 2:15pm</li></ul> The Stow Company may temporarily assign any team member with duties outside of their normal responsibilities.Such assignments may be warranted due to a variety of specific requirements, conditions and/or the capabilities of available personnel.Management will determine the nature and duration of those assignments.
