- Lecturer in Sport Leadership and Administration (one-year appointment, renewable) Department: Counseling and School PsychologyJob Description:The Sport Leadership and Administration program at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a full-time non-tenure-track Lecturer (one-year appointment) to join the Department of Counseling and School Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development, beginning Fall 2024.
- Responsibilities include: (1) teach undergraduate-level courses; (2) advise undergraduate students; (3) assist in the recruitment and selection of new students; and (4) provide service to university, college, and departmental committees, and to professional associations.
- Additionally, we seek candidates whose teaching and professional practices display a comprehensive understanding of inequities within the field of sport; the impact of systemic and structural racism and discrimination on athletes, individuals involved in sport, and the sport industry; and the ways that racial and gender oppression intersect in terms of access, equity, and sport administration, programmatic, and intervention efforts.
- Requirements: Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in Sport Management or a related field (including, but not limited to, sport leadership, sport psychology, exercise science) and evidence of excellence in teaching.
- The successful candidate would join the Department of Counseling and School Psychology which provides a dynamic environment for faculty and students to engage in nationally recognized research, especially in areas related to equity issues, systems-level change, LGBTQ health and wellness, social justice, transnational, human rights, and global perspectives.
