- The Human Factors Consultant applies various human performance and human factors/ergonomics methodologies to assess performance, process, design, workflow, equipment, and the environment with the purpose of driving improvement and reducing patient harm.
- This position requires specialized expertise in the body of knowledge, methods, and skills related to Human Factors Engineering/Psychology and Sociotechnical Systems Science, quality improvement, ergonomics, and event reviews/hazard analyses.
- Maintains and monitors project work plans to support the successful achievement of local, divisional and organizational goals/aims.
- Designs and executes tests to simulate product use for the purpose of product procurement, use-risk identification, and formal usability testing with intended users.
- Interfaces with key personnel to identify and analyze product or equipment problems or risks, performing human factors investigations, and developing and implementing action plans for correction.
