- JOB SUMMARYThe Health Unit Coordinator/Emergency Department Technician (HUC/EDT) functions under the supervision of the Emergency Department (ED) Charge Nurse or designee.
- The HUC/EDT performs direct and indirect patient care tasks and unit clerical duties to assist in the function of the medical team and to help meet patient and family needs during their time in the ED.WORK SHIFT12 hour day shifts; variable; 8:00 am - 8:30 pm; includes weekend & holiday rotation.
- Must have or has had a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, or Emergency Medical technician (EMT) awarded by the State of Wisconsin, or Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) program, or successful completion of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology courses, or Medical Assistant (MA), certified by the State if Wisconsin.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
- Preferred/Optional: Medical Assistant (MA) or certified nursing assistance (CNA) experience.
