- Teaches, guides, instructs and supports persons with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders to address barriers in any life domain, associated with their recovery.
- Teaches skills such as: self-advocacy, negotiation, problem solving, goal setting, symptom management, recovery capital, daily living (i.e. housekeeping, cooking, cleaning, and parenting), communication, coping, financial/budgeting and money management, benefits management, vocational, identifying triggers to prevent relapse, community integration, and social/recreation/leisure skills.
- Participate in team meetings for the discussion formulation of the treatment plan.
- Includes the criminal justice system, the child welfare system, hospital/medical systems, educational, etc.
- Minimum of two years professional experience working directly with adults or youth and families in a child welfare, school, childcare, criminal justice behavioral health or related setting preferred.
