- Applies knowledge of the National Flood Insurance Program, Risk MAP, and Community Rating System (CRS) to support senior staff in developing reports, external communications, training, and technical support to clients and community stakeholders for FEMA Regional offices and state/community clients.
- Candidates must have a basic understanding of floodplain management, hazard mitigation, and risk communication principles as well as demonstrated proficiency with GIS software tools including Esri’s ArcGIS Pro/ArcMap desktop software and online platform.
- Supporting the floodplain management, training, outreach, and special projects team, duties include meeting facilitation, technical assistance to public stakeholders, compiling and updating reports and map graphics, developing training materials, and technical writing related to GIS and other mapping products and tools.
- Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience with a combination of floodplain management, GIS, H&H modeling, hazard mitigation plan development, training development, or public information or outreach related activities.
- Completion of FEMA’s EMI E273 course (or equivalent).
