- CPLI operates with the belief that racial disparities and misplaced justice system responses to youth have contributed to the over-criminalization of youth; there is an urgent need to dismantle these systems with an investment in community, neighborhood and school-based solutions that promote racial equity and fundamental fairness for young people.
- The Executive Director will be at the forefront of coordinating and strengthening this movement, supporting a collective vision for holistic communities of care, and serving as a change agent to shift the state narrative to advance youth justice.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing funding partners, and grows and sustains CPLI’s network of funders and donors that are interested in supporting youth-led advocacy and creating community-driven alternatives to justice system responses and incarceration; includes building development capacity and engaging in foundation fundraising.
- Work with local and state partners to strengthen youth/adult partnerships in coalition work, particularly through the Youth Justice Leadership Program.
- Demonstrated experience with nonprofit management, grantmaking, operational, fiscal, legal compliance, and human resource responsibilities.
