- The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation seeks a stormwater professional, or environmental professional in a related or similar field with relevant educational and technical experience, and excellent communication skills to join the Operational Permitting Section within the Watershed Management Division's Stormwater Program, which administers permitting for the discharge of stormwater runoff from regulated impervious surfaces.
- Environmental science/engineering background, with knowledge of the principles specific to post-construction stormwater management, including but not limited to stormwater hydrology and modeling.
- This position, Environmental Scientist III - Stormwater Program (Job Requisition #50369) , is open to all State employees and external applicants.
- Field work may involve exposure to chemicals, gases, hazardous liquid and solid waste, and construction sites during all weather conditions; and may involve traversing rough terrain and bodies of water.
- Master's degree in environmental biology, microbiology or chemistry, or ecology, soils science, geology or hydrogeology AND one (1) year or more of professional experience in environmental biology, microbiology or chemistry, or ecology, soils science, geology or hydrogeology.
