- Either A: master's degree in career counseling, clinical psychology, community counseling, counseling, mental health counseling, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, school counseling, or social work;
- Or B: master's degree in career development, counseling education, educational leadership, health education, higher education, human development, or psychology education AND one year of full-time qualifying employment counseling experience as described below;
- Or C: bachelor's degree in career counseling, career development, clinical psychology, community counseling, counseling, counseling education, educational leadership, health education, higher education, human development, mental health counseling, psychology, psychology education, rehabilitation counseling, school counseling, or social work AND two years of full-time qualifying employment counseling experience as described below.
- Current Department of Labor employees only, with at least one year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in an Employment Counselor, if you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current Employment Counselor eligible list for this location, if one exists.
- One year of permanent or contingent-permanent as an Employment Counselor Spanish Language.
