- The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures advances the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections.
- Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery.
- Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Exhibitions, the Director of Exhibition Planning is responsible for managing the planning and coordination of all Museum exhibitions and installations, including long-term installations and temporary exhibitions and projects.
- Together with the Museum's Director, Chief Operating Officer, and the Executive Vice President of Exhibitions, play a key role in the long-term strategic planning of the Museum's overall exhibition schedule in relation to timing, budgets, and collaborations.
- Work closely with internal Exhibitions Design & Production, Curatorial, Registration & Collection Management, Finance, Facilities, Publications, Legal, Digital Strategy and other departments, as well as outside vendors, independent contractors, and consultants to ensure exhibitions are completed on time and on budget.
