POSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) provides administrative and clinical leadership for the CAPS office and is part of the leadership team for the Division of Student Affairs.
- The Director is responsible for supervising the counseling staff, providing student clinical evaluations and short-term, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation and education for the campus community regarding mental health issues and student development.
- Serves as a member of the Behavioral Assessment Team (BAT) and, when needed, participates in threat assessment activities with team members.
- Contributes to the cooperative nature of the interactions between Counseling, Student Affairs, Academic Advising, Campus Safety, Title IX office and other campus wide departments as needed.
- Assists the Vice President and Dean of Student Affairs with policy planning on drugs/alcohol, mental health, and Title IX issues.
