- Additionally, as of June 18, 2021, the duties and responsibilities of the former Office of the Gaming Inspector General were transferred to and encompassed by NYSIG, including the duty to receive and investigate complaints from any source concerning allegations of corruption, fraud, criminal activity, conflicts of interest or abuse in the Gaming Commission.
- Staff comprising OIG’s NYC Region are assigned to locations in Lower Manhattan and Suffern.
- OIG conducts in-depth investigations and analysis of alleged fraud, abuse, corruption, conflicts of interest, and other criminal activity in New York State agencies and entities under its jurisdiction.
- The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) has primary supervisory responsibility for management and supervision of all staff assigned to the New York City (NYC) Region of OIG, including legal, audit, investigative and operations personnel.
- Under the direction of the Chief Deputy Inspector General, the DIG is responsible for supervising all OIG investigations and initiatives assigned to the NYC Region and project managing each to an efficient and thorough conclusion in conformance with all office standards.
